A thriller…afternoon
Remember how I said I was going to post more often? Remember that?
I actually do miss posting here regularly. I don’t go out on random adventures like I used to. I miss that.
Part of the reason why I don’t go on random adventures anymore is because life is busy. In the spring, I usually went to work, and then at 5:01 p.m., packed up my camera bag and headed downtown. On weekends I went to a park or festival, and that was it. Now most of my time is taken up editing photos from poetry events I attend.
Actually, as I write about it, life might be getting a little too busy. I just got a new job (!), so I’m back to working a 9-5 again. I’m at a poetry event at least 1-2 times a week. And I also volunteer on an open-source project that takes up my time. And I am a guitar student. And I’m trying to upskill. Something’s gotta go.
Anyway. I’m here to write about a photoshoot I attended a few weeks ago. Asia organized a Thriller-themed photoshoot at Recognizze Studios towards the end of September. I volunteered to be a behind the scenes photographer. I enjoyed doing BTS work. I got to chill in the corner and stay out of the rain to take photos.
Rain aside, it was a fun event, and it was another opportunity to use my flash. I understand how exposure affects flash. I just want to keep getting better at it.
Anyway, here are some of the photos from the event. I purposely kept the grain in these photos because I wanted to try to mimic the film look from the BTS photos at MJ’s Thriller music video.
I have to figure out which ones I want to post to Instagram. I have no idea why business accounts can only post 10 photos but non-business accounts can post 20. Make it make sense.
