In search of french toast
It’s been extremely foggy and wet and raining and gray here for the past few days. I haven’t been motivated to do much. Ordinarily, I spend weekends driving around Cleveland, doing this and doing that. This weekend, I stayed home for the most part and only ventured out for a concert at the Church of the Covenant last night.
Sidebar: I rented the 56mm f1.2 for a photo shoot a few weeks ago. I recently had to return it back to Lensrentals, and I already miss it. I brought my 50mm f2 to the concert last night and couldn’t get a decent picture because I was a) several rows away from the performers and b) in a poor lighting situation. All I could think was, “I bet the 56 would get the shot.” So I need to start a GoFundMe to buy the lens. Or something.
Anyway.
I was planning to stay home again today, but we had a little bit of sunlight this morning, so I decided to take advantage of it and step outside to get some french toast because it’s Sunday and I’m not cooking.
One of my favorite breakfast spots near me is The Stone Oven. It’s been around as long as I’ve been alive, or possibly longer. Their challah french toast with bacon is my go-to breakfast.
I took a few shots with the 18mm f1.4 while walking over to the restaurant. When I was here a few weeks ago, I took some shots with the 27mm f2 and immediately wished that I had a wider lens. The 18mm was exactly what I needed.
There are no pictures of the food because it was gone shortly after I arrived home.
